The Florida Housing Hall of Fame

The Florida Housing Hall of Fame, established by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), honors men and women who have made significant and lasting contributions to housing in Florida, the building industry, and the FHBA. A secondary purpose of the honor is to promote a positive image of Florida's building industry to the general public through increased awareness and education.

Inductees are selected by the FHBA Florida Housing Hall of Fame Board of Governors and recognized on behalf of the association's more than 8,000 members across the state. The honor celebrates innovators and advocates whose leadership and work have expanded access to safe, quality, and affordable housing and left a lasting impact on housing across Florida. Inductions are presented during FHBA's leadership events, including the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), the association's annual industry event.

For Space Coast Builders Association members, the Florida Housing Hall of Fame represents the highest level of recognition at the state level — a tribute to the builders, advocates, and leaders whose contributions have shaped homeownership and strengthened communities across Florida and here on the Space Coast.

The National Housing Hall of Fame

The National Housing Hall of Fame was established by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in 1976 to recognize individuals whose spirit, ingenuity, and determination have changed the face of housing for the better — helping to make America one of the best-housed nations in the world. Being named to the Hall of Fame is the highest individual honor bestowed by the housing industry.

The honor is reserved for individuals whose contributions carry national or global importance and enduring value to the housing industry. Honorees are those who have made a lasting impact by expanding housing opportunity for Americans, advancing sound housing policy, or introducing innovations — in programs, products, systems, or technology — that have influenced the industry and improved the way Americans live. The standard is genuine, lasting impact: national service or leadership titles alone are not enough to merit induction.

Since the first induction ceremony in May 1977, more than 200 leaders have been elected to the National Housing Hall of Fame. Today the honor is part of the broader National Housing Center Awards, which also include the Exemplary Service to Home Building award, established in 2014 to recognize individuals for specific achievements in service to the industry. Inductions are held every three years during NAHB's Spring Leadership Meeting in Washington, D.C.
